Motivations and barriers of adult education in the CZ

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá tématem vzdělávání dospělých v ČR, a to primárně jejich motivací a bariérami. Jejím hlavním cílem je analyzovat současný stav ve vzdělávání dospělých v ČR, vysvětlit, proč by se člověk měl celý život vzdělávat, jak vzdělávání ovlivňuje jeho život a navrhnout metody a způsoby motivování dospělých v ČR k dalšímu vzdělávání. Teoretická část se věnuje základním pojmům a konceptu celoživotního vzdělávání, andragogiky a její stručné historii a motivaci dospělých k dalšímu vzdělávání. Dále jsou popsány bariéry a překážky, se kterými se dospělí setkávají při opětovném vstupu do formálního vzdělávání. V praktické části bylo předmětem zájmu zjistit, jaký je názor dospělých na celoživotní vzdělávání a jaké jsou největší překážky při cestě za ním. Ke sběru dat je využíváno dotazníkové šetření. Po ukončení provedeného výzkumu bude jasné vysvětlení, jak celoživotní učení ovlivňuje život člověka, proč by se člověk měl celý život učit a budou představeny metody a způsoby, které budou pomáhat motivovat dospělé k dalšímu vzdělávání v ČR.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the topic of adult education in the Czech Republic, primarily their motivations and barriers. The main aim of this thesis is to analyze the current state of adult education in the Czech Republic, to explain why a person should be educated throughout their lives, how education affects their lives and to propose methods and ways of motivating adults in the Czech Republic to further their education. The theoretical part is devoted to the basic terms and concepts of lifelong learning, andragogy, its brief history and motivation of adults for further education. It also describes the barriers and obstacles that adults encounter when re-entering formal education. In the practical part, the interest was to find out what adults' attitudes towards lifelong learning are and what are the biggest barriers in their educational journey. A questionnaire survey is used to collect data. After the research is completed, there will be a clear explanation of how lifelong learning affects a person's life, why a person should learn throughout their life and methods and ways that will help motivate adults to further their education in the Czech Republic will be presented.
