Práce se věnuje problematice klasifikace a hodnocení žáků 9. ročníku základní školy, jejich interpretaci, dále výhod a nevýhod současné klasifikační stupnice, a charakteristice hodnocení žáků. Autor poukazuje na to, jaké problémy žáci 9. ročníku v současné době mají, zmiňuje portfolia jako relativně novou vyučovací metodu a porovnává klasifikaci a slovní hodnocení.
