Virginia Woolf: The Outer and the Inner

Abstract:

In my MA thesis I analyze ways in which Virginia Woolf expresses the outer and the inner aspects of life in the novels Orlando: A Biography and The Years. Woolf wrote the novel The Years on the basis of an unpublished work which was first published in 1977 under the title The Pargiters: The Novel-Essay Portion of The Years. In my thesis I devote one separate chapter to this novel-essay as this work is important for understanding The Years in which Woolf mixes fact and vision.
