Cílování inflace vs. cílování cenové hladiny: Porovnání v DSGE modelu

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se věnuje porovnání cílování inflace a cílování cenové hladiny v NK DSGE modelu. Předchozí dekáda se nesla v duchu nízké inflace a nulových nominálních úrokovým sazeb. Proto se znovu začalo hovořit o alternativních režimech, a to i cílování cenové hladiny. Právě cílování inflace a cílování cenové hladiny je zkoumáno v DSGE modelu obsahujícím mzdové a cenové rigidity. Režimy jsou zkoumány v situaci bez ZLB. Ukazuje se, že ve většině situací PLT vykazuje nižší variabilitu inflace i outputu. Dále provádím welfare analýzu. Zde se jako nejlepší ukazuje znovu (flexibilní) cílování cenové hladiny. Jako poslední byla provedena consumption equivalence, aby bylo možné rozdíly mezi režimy kvantifikovat. Celkově se jako lepší režim ukazuje cílování cenové hladiny, avšak rozdíly mezi PLT a IT nejsou příliš velké.

Abstract:

This thesis compares inflation targeting and price level targeting in the NK DSGE model. The previous decade was marked by low inflation and zero nominal interest rates. Therefore, there has been a renewed discussion of alternative regimes, including price level targeting. It is inflation targeting and price level targeting that are examined in a DSGE model incorporating wage and price rigidities. The regimes are examined in a situation without the ZLB. It is shown that in most situations PLT exhibits lower variability in inflation and output. Next, I conduct a welfare analysis. Here again (flexible) price level targeting emerges as the best. Last, consumption equivalence was performed to quantify the differences between regimes. Overall, price level targeting appears to be the better regime, but the differences between PLT and IT are not very large.
