Diplomacy of the World Jewish Congress as a non-state actor in international relations

Abstract:

Antisemitismus a násilí proti židovským komunitám dlouhodobě hrozivě narůstá a odborné studie uvádí důkazy největšího nárůstu projevů antisemitismu formou urážek, útoků nebo napadení za posledních několik let. Proto je tématem mé diplomové práce zhodnocení diplomatických aktivit a činností Světového židovského kongresu (World Jewish Congress, WJC) jakožto nestátního aktéra mezinárodních vztahů za použití analýzy SWOT, který je neziskovou organizací s celosvětovou působností, mezi jejíž hlavní aktivity patří boj proti antisemitismu, popírání holocaustu a podpora a ochrana židovských komunit. Cílem práce je identifikace silných a slabých stránek, příležitostí a hrozeb v této organizaci.

Abstract:

Antisemitism and violence against Jewish communities has long been on a frightening rise, and expert studies have reported evidence of the largest increase in anti-Semitic violence in the form of insults, attacks or assaults in recent years. Therefore, the topic of my thesis is to evaluate the diplomatic activities and actions of the World Jewish Congress (WJC) as a non-state actor in international relations using SWOT analysis, which is a non-profit organization with a global reach whose main activities include combating anti-Semitism, Holocaust denial, and the promotion and protection of Jewish communities. The aim of this thesis is to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in this organization.
