Aj napriek tomu, že má tvorba pre deti a mládež na Slovensku silnú tradíciu, v posledných rokoch badať výrazný pokles pôvodných televíznych diel pre najmladšieho percipienta. S novým tisícročím prišli nové možnosti, vkus i náročnosť diváka sa mení a v slovenskej verejnoprávnej televízii badať klesajúcu tendenciu tvorby pre deti a mládež.
