EDT (Emerging and Disruptive technologies) and their influence on the character of the future security environment

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce zkoumá význam nového fenoménu disruptních technologií, přičemž se blíže zaměřuje na umělou inteligenci, Internet of Things, 3D tisk, jelikož jejich dopad na vývoj bezpečnostní situace a potenciál ovlivnit náš každodenní život jsme schopni vnímat již nyní. Cílem teoretické části je představit a analyzovat pojem EDT a jeho různé druhy, s důrazem na jejich význam v oblasti bezpečnosti, a zároveň přiblížit tyto pojmy z hlediska jejich hlavních charakteristik, nastínit jejich historický vývoj a současný stav a technologickou zralost. Praktická část této práce směřuje ke zkoumání povědomí o této problematice mezi širokou veřejností. Implementací dotazníkového šetření identifikovat obecný náhled na vnímání EDT tématiky u běžné populace, a současně prostřednictvím strukturovaných rozhovorů vedených s experty v daném oboru se seznámit s danou problematikou EDT podrobněji a porovnat tento odborný pohled s pohledem laickým. Tato bakalářská práce si klade za cíl přispět k literatuře v oblasti EDT a bezpečnosti prostřednictvím komplexního pohledu na téma. Autor věří, že získané poznatky z teoretické analýzy a praktického výzkumu poskytnou cenný příspěvek k diskusi o výzvách a příležitostech, které EDT přinášejí do oblasti bezpečnosti.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis examines the significance of the new phenomenon of disruptive technologies, focusing more closely on artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, 3D printing, because we are already able to perceive their impact on the development of the security situation and the potential to affect our everyday life. The aim of the theoretical part is to introduce and analyze the concept of EDT and its various types, with an emphasis on their importance in the field of security, and at the same time to bring these concepts closer in terms of their main characteristics, to outline their historical development and current state and technological maturity. The practical part of this work aims to investigate the awareness of this issue among the general public. By implementing a questionnaire survey to identify a general view of the perception of the EDT topic among the general population, and at the same time, through structured interviews conducted with experts in the field, to get to know the given EDT issue in more detail and to compare this expert view with the layman's view. This bachelor thesis aims to contribute to the EDT and security literature through a comprehensive view of the topic. The author believes that the knowledge gained from theoretical analysis and practical research will provide a valuable contribution to the discussion of the challenges and opportunities that EDT brings to the field of security.
