Asia Major nad Khan´s realm in the Czech written sources of the Pre-White Mountain period

Abstract:

Anotace Práce se zabývá o sjednocení mongolské kmeny až k vzniku Mongolské říši ve 13. století. Dále o stabilní rozsáhlé území a obchodní i diplomatický kontakty. V této práci je použit středověké cestopisy a zprávy o říši, které byli přeložené do českého jazyka. Cílem práce je analyzovat, popsat a charakterizovat funkci Chánovy říše. Práce se pokusí přinést odpovědi na otázky: Jaké má místo Chánova říše v popisu tzv. Větší Asie na počátku raného novověku? Lze ji ve srovnání s okolními zeměmi charakterizovat jako "zemi divotvornou''? Představuje zejména co do státního a společenského uspořádání výjimečný model?

Abstract:

Abstract The work deals with the unification of the Mongol tribes until the emergence of the Mongol Empire in the 13th century. Furthermore, a stable large area and business and diplomatic contacts. Medieval travelogues and reports about the empire, which were translated into the Czech language, are used in this work. The aim of this work is to analyse, describe, and characterize the function of Khan's empire. The work tries to answer the question: What is the place of Khan's empire in the description of the so-called Greater Asia at the beginning of the early modern period? Can it be described as a "wonderland" compared to neighbouring countries? Is it an exceptional model, especially in terms of state and social organization?
