Space-time of Railway Stations in the Czech Prose of the 20th and at the Beginning of the 21st Century

Abstract:

Tato práce se věnuje problematice železničních nádraží jako kulturním fenoménům a jejich zobrazení v česky psaných prózách do počátku dvacátého století do počátku století jedenadvacátého. Práce zároveň akcentuje zobrazení vlakových stanic i v dalších uměleckých druzích. Těžiště práce je intepretaci uměleckých děl, v nichž zaujímá nádražní časoprostor stěžejní roli.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on issue of railway stations as cultural phenomena a their portrayal in Czech prose since the beginning of 20th century until the beginning of 21st century. Thesis also accentuates portrayal of railway stations in other artistic forms. A core of this thesis lies in interpretation of works of art, in which railway setting plays the key role.
