Building trust in virtual teams through communication

Abstract:

Tato práce je zaměřená na vytvoření důvěry pomocí komunikace ve virtuálních týmech. Cílem je nejdříve charakterizovat virtuální týmy a jejich specifika, shrnout teoretické přístupy k důvěře z kterých vychází teorie důvěry ve virtuálních týmech, vymezit specifika komunikačního procesu ve virtuálních týmech a navrhnout vlastní model důvěry založený na komunikaci. Navrženého modelu je docíleno na základě vlastního výzkumu konkrétně analýzou, syntézou a vlastním shrnutím poznatků. Vlastní shrnutí zahrnuje omezení studií a slabé stránky výzkumu, které navržený model eliminuje. Model je založen na aktivní formě důvěry, která je vytvářena v první části na aktivním přístupu a komunikaci vedoucího, který se liší od manažera, tím že umí poskytovat rozumnou důvěru a v další fázi pomocí dialogu vedoucí ke sdíleným mentálním modelům. Na základě modelu je popsán proces fungování důvěry v jednotlivých fázích životního cyklu virtuálního týmu společně s konkrétními implikacemi pro vedoucího, jak vytvořit důvěru ve virtuálních týmech prostřednictvím komunikace.

Abstract:

The main objective of this thesis is to propose the model of trust based on communication. The objective is to first characterize virtual teams, summarized the theoretical approaches to trust in virtual teams, define the specifics of the communication process in virtual teams and design own model of trust based on communication. The proposed model is achieved on the basis of own research specifically: analysis, synthesis and detailed summary. The summary includes limitations of particular papers and weaknesses of research, what is taken into the consideration for the proposed model. The proposed model is based on the active form of trust that is build on proactive approach of team leader in the first phase of virtual team's life cycle and later on communication strategies through dialogue technique leading to shared mental models. The proposed model describes the process of building trust in first two stages of the virtual team's life cycle together with the implications for the leader: How to build trust in virtual teams through the communication.
