Modernisation of the infrastructure of the transport company's corporate network

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá revitalizací infrastruktury firemní sítě v konkrétní spediční společnosti. Infrastrukturu je nutné revitalizovat, protože stávající řešení je již nedostačující především z pohledu výkonu a stability. V teoretické části bakalářské práce jsou vysvětleny stěžejní termíny a technologie, popsány základní funkce klíčových aktivních prvků infrastruktury, současné standardy a technologie nezbytně nutné k realizaci požadovaného řešení. Součástí praktické části je analýza a porovnání stavu před revitalizací a po ní, postup dílčích projektových prací a popis konkrétních kroků, které jsou nezbytné pro úspěšné docílení revitalizace řešené v této práci. Popisuje také nutné úpravy stávající infrastruktury, výběr a instalaci zálohovacího zařízení, výběr HW komponentů pro sestavení serverového clusteru, následnou konfiguraci a instalaci programového vybavení, konsolidaci stávajících serverů, migraci služeb, testování a nasazení do ostrého provozu. V závěru nechybí zhodnocení přínosu tohoto konkrétního projektu včetně zpětné vazby od uživatelů.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis focuses on the revitalization of the corporate network infrastructure in a specific logistics company. The infrastructure needs to be revitalized because the current solution is inadequate, primarily in terms of performance and stability. The theoretical part of the thesis explains key terms and technologies, describes the basic functions of key active infrastructure elements, current standards, and technologies necessary for the implementation of the required solution. The practical part includes an analysis and comparison of the state before and after the revitalization, the process of partial project tasks, and a description of specific steps necessary for the successful revitalization addressed in this thesis. It also describes the necessary modifications to the existing infrastructure, selection and installation of backup devices, selection of hardware components for building a server cluster, subsequent configuration and installation of software, consolidation of existing servers, service migration, testing, and deployment into live operation. The conclusion includes an evaluation of the benefits of this specific project, including user feedback.
