Traces of New Aesthetics in the Context of Post-internet Art Practice

Abstract:

Magisterská diplomová práce si klade za cíl vyhledat v post-internetovém umění známky uplatnění nové estetiky (J. Bridle), popsat jednotlivé případy a na závěr případně definovat umění nové estetiky jako žánr v rámci post-internetové praxe. Nejdříve budou vymezeny základní pojmy práce: post-internetové umění, post-internet, nová estetika, žánr. Následně budou popsány příklady uplatnění nové estetiky v rámci post-internetového umění, respektive post-internetový přístup k tvorbě v dílech vyjadřujících novou estetiku. Poté se se pokusíme definovat společné rysy těchto děl, čímž by se potvrdila naše hypotéza, že se jedná o subžánr post-internetového umění.

Abstract:

The master's thesis aims to search for signs of applying The New Aesthetics (J. Bridle) in post-internet art, describe individual cases and finally define the art of The New Aesthetics as a genre in post-internet practice. First, the basic concepts of the work will be defined: post-internet art, post-internet, The New Aesthetics, genre. Subsequently, examples of the application of The New Aesthetics in post-Internet art, or post-Internet approach to creation in works expressing The New Aesthetics will be described. Lastly, we will try to define the common features of these works, which would confirm our hypothesis that it is a subgenre of post-internet art.
