Analysis of jumping performance of horses in competitions Young horse criteria in the Czech Republic and comparison with German testing of young horses

Abstract:

Tato studie měla za cíl zhodnotit výkonnost mladých koní v soutěžích určených přímo těmto věkovým kategoriím (Kritéria mladých koní). Byl sledován vliv pohlaví, plemene, věku, roku startu a otce na výkonnost. Pro vyhodnocení byla použita data z výsledků Kritérií mladých koní z let 2010-2022. Byly vyhodnoceny výsledky od celkem 1794 koní, z čehož 919 bylo v zastoupení klisen a 875 hřebců. V rámci plemen bylo nepočetnější plemeno Českého teplokrevníka 752 koní. Testování pomocí Statistiky ANOVA potvrdilo statisticky průkazný vliv plemene, kdy zástupci královského holandského teplokrevníka a holštýnského koně inkasovali lepší hodnocení a výsledky než čeští teplokrevníci a slovenští teplokrevníci. Dále byla potvrzena průkaznost vlivu věku, kdy prokazatelně lepší známky za sledované ukazatele (připravenost, provedení skoku a obratnost) získali koně 5ti a 6ti letí než koně 4letí. V počtu trestných bodů naopak vedli koně nejstarší kategorie 6letých. 4letí získali průměrné hodnoty 7,8 za provedení skoku, 7,6 za obratnost a 7,6 za připravenost. 5letí získali 8 za provedení skoku, 7,8 za obratnost a 7,8 za připravenost. 6letí byly hodnoceni 8 za provedení skoku, 7,9 za obratnost a 7,8 za připravenost. Rok startu byl také prokázán, že má vliv ve vztahu k výkonnosti. Za nejslabší rok byl vyhodnocen rok 2015, naopak nejlépe si koně vedli v roce 2022. Faktor otce byl statisticky vyhodnocen jako průkazný také. Nejlépe byli hodnoceni potomci hřebců Aristo Z, Cornet Obolensky a Carpalo.Vliv faktoru pohlaví prokázán nebyl.

Abstract:

The aim of this study was to evaluate the performance of young horses in competitions designed specifically for these age categories (Criteria young horses). The effect of sex, breed, age, year of start and sire on performance was monitored. Data from the results of the Young Horse Criteria from 2010-2022 were used for the evaluation. Results from a total of 1,794 horses were evaluated, of which 919 were represented by mares and 875 by stallions. Within the breeds, there were 752 horses of the Czech Warmblood breed, which was less numerous. Testing using ANOVA statistics confirmed the statistically significant influence of the breed, when representatives of the Royal Dutch Warmblood and the Holstein horse collected better evaluations and results than the Czech Warmbloods and Slovak Warmbloods. Furthermore, the proof of the influence of age was confirmed, when 5- and 6-year-old horses obtained demonstrably better marks for the monitored indicators (readiness, jump performance and agility) than 4-year-old horses. On the other hand, horses in the oldest category of 6-year-olds led in the number of penalty points. 4-year-olds scored an average of 7.8 for jumping, 7.6 for agility and 7.6 for readiness. The 5-year-olds scored 8 for jumping, 7.8 for agility and 7.8 for readiness. The 6-year-olds were rated 8 for jumping, 7.9 for agility and 7.8 for readiness. Year of launch has also been shown to have an effect in relation to performance. The year 2015 was evaluated as the weakest year, on the contrary, the horses performed best in 2022. The sire factor was also statistically evaluated as conclusive. The best rated were the offspring of the stallions Aristo Z, Cornet Obolensky and Carpalo. The influence of the gender factor was not proven.
