Analysis of Unemployment in the District Rychnov nad Kněžnou during the Period 2009-2016

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je identifikovat determinanty ovlivňující vývoj nezaměstnanosti v okrese Rychnov nad Kněžnou mezi lety 2009-2016, a to na základě analýzy vybraných demografických ukazatelů, struktury ekonomických činností, hospodářského vývoje, soukromých a veřejných investic a aktivní politiky zaměstnanosti. Teoretická část definuje základní pojmy, pojednává o vlivu vybraných determinant na nezaměstnanost, charakterizuje sledované území a také popisuje vývoj nezaměstnanosti na sledovaném území před rokem 2009. Praktická část analyzuje vývoj vybraných determinant mezi lety 2009-2016, přičemž jejich vývoj je srovnáván s okresem Praha-východ. Na základě této analýzy jsou pak identifikovány ty determinanty, které mohly vývoj nezaměstnanosti v okrese Rychnov nad Kněžnou ovlivnit. Hlavními zdroji dat jsou ČSÚ, MPSV ČR a Úřad práce ČR. Poklesu nezaměstnanosti v okrese Rychnov nad Kněžnou napomohl hospodářský růst, který je v tomto okrese spjat s automobilovým průmyslem reprezentovaným především závodem ŠKODY AUTO a.s. v Kvasinách. Rozvoj tohoto závodu byl podpořen mimo jiné také veřejnými investicemi.

Abstract:

The aim of the diploma thesis is to identify determinants influencing the development of unemployment in the district Rychnov nad Kněžnou during the period 2009-2016. This identification is carried out on the basis of analysis of selected demographic factors, structure of economic activities, economic development, private and public investments, and active labour market policies. The theoretical part defines basic terms, explains the influence of selected determinants on unemployment, characterizes the investigated area, and also describes the development of unemployment in the investigated area before the year 2009. The practical part analyses the development of the selected determinants during the period 2009-2016. At the same time, their development is compared with the district Praha-východ. On the basis of this analysis the practical part identifies those determinants which possibly influenced the development of unemployment in the district Rychnov nad Kněžnou. The main sources of data are CZSO, Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic, and Labour Office of the Czech Republic. The decrease of unemployment in the district Rychnov nad Kněžnou has been supported by economic growth. In this district the economic growth is associated especially with car industry represented mainly by the plant in Kvasiny belonging to the company ŠKODA AUTO a.s. The expansion of this plant has been also supported by public investments.
