Children’s World in the History of Mankind (The Anthropology of Childhood)

Abstract:

The goal of this thesis is to present to reader a complex image of children’s world in the history of human society. The presence of children in historical populations is undeniable, however, we often encounter omission of children in scientific literature. This thesis offers an insight into various categories related to childhood. It concentrates on the Middle Ages and the early modern period. It addresses areas that form the core of the children’s world: upbringing, education, entertainment and play.

Abstract:

Cieľom tejto bakalárskej práce je ponúknuť čitateľovi komplexný pohľad na detský svet v histórii ľudskej spoločnosti. Prítomnosť detí v historických populáciách je nepopierateľná, v odbornej literatúre sa však často stretávame s opomínaním detského sveta. Táto práca teda ponúka náhľad na rôzne kategórie, ktoré súvisia s detstvom, koncentrujúc sa na obdobie stredoveku a raného novoveku. Táto práca sa venuje oblastiam, ktoré predstavujú jadro detského sveta: výchova, vzdelávanie, zábava a hra.
