Metabolomika, nový směr analytické biochemie, může být považována za koncový bod „omics“ kaskády. Cílem metabolomiky je identifikovat a kvantifikovat všechny metabolity v biologickém vzorku a tedy i v celém organismu, a tím napomáhat porozumět fyziologickému stavu organismu. Metabolomics is the new science technology based on analytical biochemistry. This method could be possibly considered as the endpoint of the „omics“ cascade. The aim of metabolomics is to identify and quantify all the metabolites in biological samples and whole organisms in order understand the physiological state of an organism.
