The effect of foliar applied nutrients on the yield and starch content of potatoes

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na zhodnocení vlivu vybraných vícesložkových listových hnojiv na hospodářský výnos, počet hlíz pod trsem a obsah škrobu u dvou velmi raných konzumních odrůd brambor. Dvouletý výzkum, založený v letech 2019 a 2020, probíhal formou maloparcelkových polních pokusů na pozemcích rodinné farmy v Ivani u Pohořelic. Do pokusu byly zařazeny varianty: K. Kontrolní varianta bez aplikace listových hnojiv, 1. Aplikace Kombiphosu ve fázi velikosti hlíz nad 10 mm, 2. Dělená aplikace Kombiphosu ve fázi háčkování 2-3 mm a ve fázi velikosti hlíz nad 10 mm, 3. Dělená aplikace Kombiphosu společně s aplikací mikroprvků B, Mn, Mg v hnojivech Bortrac, Mantrac a Magnitra. 10 dnů po aplikaci listových hnojiv proběhly odběry vzorků rostlinné hmoty. Odkopy hlíz byly provedeny ve čtyřech opakováních, dvakrát za vegetaci, a to po 100 a 120 dnech od založení polního pokusu. Polní pokus byl zaměřený především na rozdílné nasazování hlíz v období tuberizace po aplikaci fosforečnanu obsaženém v hnojivu Kombiphos. Pozdější aplikace hnojiv dále měly vést k odstranění možné deficience prvků a pozitivně tak ovlivnit hospodářský výnos. Podmínky stanoviště a průběh počasí v měsíci červnu v roce 2020 zajistily nadprůměrné hodnoty výnosů velmi raných konzumních brambor, které dosahovaly hranice 50 t/ha. Na srážky bohatý květen v roce 2019 a také vysoký obsah fosforu v půdě podporovaly tuberizaci a porosty brambor tak měly v tomto roce založení polního pokusu průměrně o 7 hlíz pod trsem více ve srovnání s rokem 2020. Statisticky průkazný rozdíl v hospodářském výnosu a počtu hlíz pod trsem byl zaznamenán, v rámci jednotlivých variant hnojení, pouze mezi 3. variantou hnojení a kontrolou. Rozdíl hospodářského výnosu zde činil průměrně 2,74 t/ha a přírůstek hlíz představoval 2 hlízy na trs. Škrobnatost nepřekročila u žádné varianty 11 % a byla zjištěna negativní korelace mezi výší hospodářského výnosu a škrobnatostí. Ve dvouletém polním pokusu byly zhodnoceny výnosové a kvalitativní parametry u odrůd Anushka a Finka.

Abstract:

Master thesis aimed to evaluate the achieved yields and starch content of two selected varieties of potatoes affected by foliar application of nutrients. The total yield of market tubers, the number of tubers, the concentration of elements in dry matter and starch content were evaluated. The biennial research, launched in 2019 and 2020, took place on the land of a family farm in Ivan nearby Pohorelice in the form of a small-plot experiment. Variants that were included in the experiment: C. Control without application of foliar nutrients 1. The application of Kombiphos in the size of tubers above 10 mm, 2. Divided application of Kombiphos in the hook stage 2-3 mm and in the size of tubers above 10 mm, 3. Divided application of Kombiphos along with the application of microelements B, Mn, Mg in Bortrac, Mantrac and Magnitra fertilizers. Plant matter was collected twice during the vegetation, 10 days after the application of fertilizers. Tuber samples were taken in four repetitions after one hundred and one hundred twenty days. The experiment was focused primarily on the variability of tuber initiation after application of phosphorus fertilizer Kombiphos in tuberization. Later application of fertilizers was supposed to lead to the removal of possible deficiency of elements and thus positively influence yield. Environmental conditions and the course of the weather in June 2020 ensured above-average yields of very early ware potatoes that reached the limit of 50 t/ha. Abundant rainfall in May 2019 and also high content of phosphorus in the soil and in the plant matter led to intensive tuberization. Potato varieties had in this year averagely 7 tubers more in comparison with 2020. A statistically significant difference in the yield and the number of tubers within the individual fertilization variants was recorded only between the 3th fertilization variant and the control. The difference in the yield here was on average 2.74 t/ha and the increase in tubers was 2 tubers per bunch. Starch did not exceed 11% for any variant and a negative correlation was found between the level of the yield and the starch content. Yield and qualitative parameters were evaluated for two varieties Anushka and Finka.
