From the Fear Onstage to the Feeling of Release

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce nahlíží na téma strachu na jevišti skrze herecké zkušenosti autorky, jejichž analýza se zabývá zkoumáním příčin a následků projevů nervozity a psychofyzických blokací. Dále, inspirována pohledem Declana Donnellana, zkoumá práce proces blokace přímo na jevišti a na základě herecké techniky Michaila Čechova hledá funkční principy, jak se od pocitu strachu osvobodit. Práce si neklade za cíl pojmout problematiku v celé její šíři, nýbrž formou sebereflexe podrobně prozkoumat některé její jednotlivé aspekty a navrhnout vybraná cvičení a přístupy k práci, které směřují pozornost herce od problému.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis consults the theme of fear onstage through author's acting experiences the analysis of which searches for causes and consequences of signs of nervousness and psychophysical blocking. Furthermore, inspired by Declan Donnellan's view, the thesis investigates the process of blocking directly onstage, and, on the basis of Michael Chekhov's acting technique, it researches functional principles how to free from the feeling of fear. The thesis does not aim to hold the issue in its entirety, but in the form of self-reflection, to examine in detail some of its individual aspects and to suggest selected exercises and approaches to work that point the actor's attention away from the problem.
