How to use MOOC in Education of Adult people

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe MOOC in Adults Education. The bachelor thesis is based as theoretically empirical and the main target is phenomenom of Adult Education based on e-learning and online MOOC courses. Theoretical part is dedicated to approach of the history and main target of MOOC courses, definition of concepts and most important platforms providing MOOC education. The thesis also investigates possibilities and availability of MOOC education in Czech Republic as modern type of further Adults Education. The empirical part of this bachelor thesis is focused on investigation of participation, motivation and barriers in Adults Education affecting further on-line education. Except the on-line courses, another part is investigating acknowledgment and acquaintance among adults related to MOOC courses as further additional education possibility. To get the data examining the information about Adults involvement and participation in further additional on-line and MOOC education, plus the most frequent way of usage on-line education for adults, the questionnaire based survey was used. The goal of the survey is to determine Adults motivation to further education, barriers and other factors influencing Adults in participation and attendance of on-line and MOOC educational courses. Another part of research is focused on acknowledgement among Adults about MOOC courses as a modern, important and relevant way of self-education. Final part of this thesis presents the survey results. This research showed the obvious interest of Adults in attendance, participation and completion of on-line and MOOC courses as a modern was of their education. Although the acknowledgement of MOOC courses is still not widespread among population.

Abstract:

Predmetom tejto bakalárskej práce bolo Využitie MOOC vo vzdelávaní dospelých. Predkladaná bakalárska práca má teoreticko-empirický charakter. Zameriava sa na fenomén ďalšieho vzdelávania dospelých v on-line a MOOC kurzoch. Teoretická časť práce je zameraná na priblíženie vzniku a zamerania MOOC kurzov, vymedzenie názvoslovia a najvýznamnejších platforiem poskytujúcich MOOC vzdelávanie. Práca taktiež skúma možnosti a dostupnosť MOOC vzdelávania v Českej Republike ako moderného typu ďalšej edukácie. Empirická časť tejto práce skúma účasť, motiváciu a bariéry dospelých v ďalšom on-line vzdelávaní. Okrem on-line kurzov skúma znalosť informácií o MOOC kurzoch medzi dospelými ako ďalšej možnosti edukácie. Prieskumné dáta boli získané dotazníkovou metódou, ktorá skúmala údaje o účasti dospelých v ďalšom on-line a MOOC vzdelávaní a najčastejšom spôsobe využívania on-line vzdelávania dospelých. Prieskum si dával za cieľ zistiť motiváciu dospelých k ďalšiemu vzdelávaniu, bariéry v ďalšom vzdelávaní a ďalšie faktory ovplyvňujúce účasť dospelých v on-line a MOOC edukácii. V neposlednom rade bola práca zameraná na zistenie povedomia dospelých o MOOC kurzoch ako modernej a významnej možnosti ďalšieho vzdelávania. V záverečnej časti tejto bakalárskej práce sú prezentované výsledky prieskumu. Z výsledkov je zrejmý záujem dospelých absolvovať on-line a MOOC vzdelávanie, hoci informácie o MOOC kurzoch nie sú v dospelej populácii veľmi rozšírené.
