Physical therapy for walking disorders and tremor in an elderly patient with Parkinson's Disease: case report

Abstract:

In Parkinson's disease, walking disorder is one of the symptoms of the disease. It manifests itself in a reduction of the movement of the pendulum of the arms (which is generally emphasized by a hemilate), a position of flexion and a shortened step. Sometimes there is what is called "party", that is, the patient tends to rub his feet on the ground and accelerate the pace, as if he were chasing his own body to escape a fall. In this way, the walk becomes a march. For patients with difficulties, it will be difficult to interrupt the journey once the destination is reached. In some cases, sudden blocks ("freezing" or "freezing of walking") may occur during walking which may cause the patient's feet to adhere to the floor. It can be seen when the patient has to pass very small passages or go to a crowded room of many people. Freezing is one of the main causes of falls on the ground. It is therefore important to recognize it. This phenomenon can manifest itself as impossible to start walking or changing direction. Abstract:

Nel morbo di Parkinson, il disturbo della deambulazione ? uno dei sintomi della patologia. Si manifesta in una riduzione del movimento del pendolo delle braccia (che ? generalmente enfatizzato da un emilato), una posizione di flessione e un passo accorciato. A volte c'? quella che viene definita "festa", cio? il paziente tende a strofinare i piedi per terra e ad accelerare il ritmo, come se stesse inseguendo il proprio corpo per sfuggire a una caduta. In questo modo, la passeggiata diventa una marcia. Per i pazienti con difficolt?, sar? difficile interrompere il viaggio una volta raggiunta la destinazione. In alcuni casi, possono verificarsi blocchi improvvisi ("congelamento" o "congelamento della deambulazione") durante la deambulazione che possono far aderire i piedi del paziente al pavimento. Pu? essere visto quando il paziente deve passare passaggi molto piccoli o andare in una stanza affollata di molte persone. Il congelamento ? una delle principali cause di cadute a terra. ? quindi importante riconoscerlo. Questo fenomeno pu? manifestarsi come impossibile iniziare a camminare o cambiare direzione. La svolta ? la strategia di movimento che consente al soggetto di cambiare direzione durante la camminata.
