Social capital as a competitive advantage

Abstract:

Cílem práce je analyzovat dopady nevhodného personálního řízení na snižování konkurenceschopnosti podniku v souvislosti s aktuálním tématem sociálního kapitálu a potenciálu firmy. Upozorňuje na podceňovaný fakt, že spokojený zaměstnanec zůstává loajální i v době zhoršující se ekonomické situace podniku. Analyzuje rovněž dopad nedobrovolné fluktuace z podniku na jeho konkurenceschopnost. Dále poukazuje na skutečnost, že hlavním zdrojem konkurenční výhody podniku jsou kvalitní zaměstnanci. Ti vytvářejí prostřednictvím vlastních sociálních sítí společenský kapitál, který využívají nejen k vlastnímu prospěchu, ale také ku prospěchu společnosti. Důraz je kladen na fakt, že vhodným způsobem řízení lidských zdrojů je budování důvěry a podpora tvorby sociálního kapitálu touto přirozenou cestou. Tento kapitál tvoří důležitou složku celkového lidského kapitálu firmy. Jednoznačné definování firemních cílů a strategií k jejich dosažení usnadňuje udržení kvalitních pracovníků ve firmě. Tito pracovníci potom představují nejcennější zdroj firmy v konkurenčním boji. Výsledky práce poukazují na to, že k udržení tohoto zdroje je naprosto nezbytný otevřený přístup managementu vůči zaměstnancům, opuštění formálních a direktivních přístupů řízení, spravedlivé hodnocení jejich práce a znovuzískání důvěry ve vedení společnosti.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to analyze the impacts of inappropriate personnel management to reduce the competitiveness of the company in connection with the current theme of social capital and the potential of the company. The thesis indicates an underrated fact that a satisfied employee remains loyal even during deteriorating economic situation. It analyzes the impact of involuntary fluctuations to competitors. The thesis also deals with the fact that main source of competitive advantage of the company are qualified employees. They create social capital through their own social networks, which is used not only their own benefit, but also for the society benefit. Building trust and support for the creation of social capital represent appropriate human resources management. This capital is an important component of the overall human capital of the company. The clear definition of corporate goals and strategies helps to retain quality employees in the company. These employees then represent the company´s most valuable resources in the market competition. Open approach to employees, omitting a formal and directive management, fair evaluation of employees work and confidence in management is essential for keeping qualified and loyal employees.
