Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce zkoumá, jaký je vztah mezi rozvojem kompetence k učení a konverzacemi na témata studijních návyků v hodinách anglického jazyka. Kompetence k učení je porovnána s konceptem žákovy autonomie, což je koncept často diskutovaný v oblasti metodologie anglického jazyka (ELT). Diplomová práce ukazuje, že současné trendy v ELT jsou ve své podstatě propojené s požadavky české kurikulární reformy a že se vzájemně doplňují. Práce také prezentuje koncepci výukových plánů zabývajících se tématem studijních návyků. Konverzace na téma studijních návyků je v hodinách anglického jazyka pro rozvoj kompetence k učení klíčová, protože efektivní učení není možné, jestliže studenti nevědí, jak se správně učit. Diplomová práce také zkoumá oblast komunikativního přístupu v učení cizího jazyka, oblast kognitivního a socioafektivního aspektu dialogu a koncept integrované výuky. Výzkumná část práce interpretuje data ze dvou typů dotazníků. První dotazník byl rozdán cílové skupině studentů, která se účastnila hodin zaměřených na studijní návyky. Druhý, méně podrobný dotazník zkoumal obecnější pohled studentů na integrovanou výuku. Tento druhý dotazník byl rozdán dvěma věkovým skupinám studentů s cílem zjistit, která věková skupina považuje integrovanou výuku za přínosnější.

Abstract:

The thesis analyzes the relation between study habits issues discussed in English classes and the development of learning to learn competence (L2L). L2L competence is compared with the concept of learner autonomy frequently discussed in English language teaching (ELT). The thesis shows that the current trends in ELT and the requirements of the Czech curricular reform are interconnected and complementary. The thesis also presents a design of lesson plans dealing with study habits. Speaking about study habits in English classes is crucial for the L2L development at secondary schools, as students cannot learn efficiently unless they know how to learn. The thesis also explores the area of the communicative approach to teaching, cognitive and socio-affective aspect of a dialogue and the concept of integrated training. The research part interprets the data from two types of questionnaires. The first questionnaire was given out to the target students who have participated in the lessons suggested by the author of the thesis. The second, a less detailed questionnaire, explores the students’ view of integrated training in general. The second questionnaire was given out to two age groups of students with the aim to find out which age group considers the lessons devoted to speaking about study habits more beneficial.
