Abstract:

Práce aplikuje sémiotickou analýzu podle návrhu finského muzikologa Eera Tarastiho k identifikaci narativity v předehře k opeře Čarostřelec (Der Freischütz) Carla Marii von Webera. Demonstruje, jakým způsobem lze analyticky přistupovat ke zkoumání narativity v instrumentální hudbě, jak se hudební narativita projevuje v různých interpretacích díla a jak souvisí s dějem a libretem opery. Hlavním předmětem zájmu je klavírní přepis předehry, který vytvořil Ferenc Liszt, ale zmíněna je i specifičnost orchestrální verze. První část této studie tvoří teoretický kontext a hledání definice fenoménu hudební narativity, druhou poté podrobná praktická analýza operní předehry, která je výjimečná využitím motivů jednotlivých postav.

Abstract:

The thesis applies a semiotic analysis as suggested and elaborated by Finnish musicologist Eero Tarasti to the identification of the narrativity in the ouverture of the opera Der Freischütz (The freeshooter) by Carl Maria von Weber. It demonstrates how we can analytically approach the research of the narrativity in instrumental music, how it is manifested in different interpretations of the work and how it is related to the story and the libretto of the opera. The main subject of interest is the piano transcription made by Franz Liszt, but the specificity of the orchestral version is also mentioned. The first part of the study maps the theoretical framework and searches for the definition of the phenomenon called the “narrativity in music“, the second part puts focus on a detailed practical analysis of the ouverture which is exceptional by its use of the motives of the particular characters.
