Anotácia:

První část práce je věnována participiu prézentu a ablativu gerundia ve vybraných pozdně latinských textech. Analyzují se zejména některá tzv. aoristní participia a participia ve funkci určitých tvarů slovesných. U ablativu gerundia je centrem pozornosti zejména konkurence s participiem prézentu a souvislost s dalšími konstrukcemi. Druhá část je zaměřena na perifrastické konstrukce, ve kterých se participium prézentu a ablativ gerundia objevují. Teoretickým východiskem je teorie gramatikalizace, která umožňuje dobře popisovat i počáteční fáze vzniku perifrází. Stav v pozdně latinských textech je příležitostně porovnáván se situací v předchozích vývojových fázích latiny a v románských jazycích.

Abstract:

The first part is devoted to the present participle and the ablative of gerund in selected Late Latin texts. The so called aoristic participles and participles functioning as finite verbs are analyzed. Also, the relations between the ablative of gerund and the present participle and the connections with other constructions are studied. The second part is dedicated to the periphrastic constructions formed by the present participle or the ablative of gerund. The theory of grammaticalization, which allows us to describe even the early stages of periphrastic constructions, is used as the teoretical background. The situation in Late Latin texts is occasionally compared to that in older Latin and in the Romance languages.
