Israeli Settlements on Occupied Territories. A Problem of Israeli Domestic and International Politics

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problémem izraelských osad na okupovaném území Palestiny. Předmětem zkoumání je zde otázka, do jaké míry podporují izraelské osady na okupovaném území vnitropolitickou a zahraničně politickou integritu státu Izrael. Při hledání odpovědi na tuto otázku vycházíme zejména z analýzy role, kterou izraelské osady hrají. Tato analýza je vedena jednak z historického hlediska, a to i ve vztahu k hnutí sionismu, jednak z hlediska osad, zde se analýza týká zejména otázek typologie osad, mechanismu získávání půdy a motivace samotných osadníků, jednak z hlediska vnitropolitických vztahů a mezinárodního práva. Tato analýza potvrdila, že bezpečnostní a geopolitická situace Izraele je natolik komplexní, že zde neexistují jednoduchá a nekontroverzní řešení. Nicméně i přes všechna negativa spojená s osadami, je existence osad pro bezpečnostní politiku Izraele nezbytná.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focusing on the problem of Israeli settlements built on the occupied Palestinian territory. The main question is to which extend do these Israeli settlements support the internal and external integrity of the State of Israel The focus of this work is in the analysis of the role of the settlements. This is done both of historical point of view also in respect to Zionism, and considering the questions related to typology of the settlements, mechanism of getting the land and from the point of view of the internal political relationships including the international law. As well as taking into account the motivation of the settlers. The analysis confirmed, that the security and geopolitical situation of the State of Israel is so complex, that there is no simple and noncontroversial solution. Nevertheless, it is obvious the existence of the settlements is necessary for Israeli internal security despite all the negatives.
