Pandemic caused changes in the strategical analysis of Daen Ltd.

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je odhalení změn ve strategické analýze cestovní kanceláře, které jsou spojené s výskytem pandemie COVID-19, a to na příkladu společnosti s ručením omezeným Daen. Práce je provedena na základě odborné literatury, vědeckých článků, zpravodajství, statistik a hloubkového rozhovoru s ředitelkou společnosti. Základem práce je strategická analýza cestovní kanceláře Daen, a to za využití podmínek před pandemií a během pandemie. Nejvýznamnější změny jsou zjištěny pomocí PESTEL analýzy, Porterova modelu pěti sil a analýzy portfolia pomocí matice General Electrics. Tyto změny se projevují především ve vnějším prostředí společnosti, zatímco u vnitřních zdrojů se změnil význam těchto zdrojů pro samotný podnik. Zjištěním této práce je také skutečnost, že se Turnaround strategie podniku přeměnila na Diverzifikační strategii. Doporučením pro Daen je příprava několika strategií, a to jednu pro případ konce pandemie a druhou pro případ, že pandemie bude déle pokračovat.

Abstract:

The goal of this bachelor’s thesis is to indicate changes in strategical analysis of travel intermediary, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, on the example of Daen Ltd. This thesis is based on reference literature, scientific articles, news, statistics, and an interview with the executive director of the company. The basis of this bachelor thesis is a strategic analysis of Daen Ltd. with conditions both before the pandemic and during it. The most meaningful changes are detected by PESTEL analysis, Porter five forces model and portfolio analysis via General Electric matrix. Most changes are discovered in the external environment of the company. As for the internal sources, changes occurred mostly in the meaning of those sources for the enterprise. A significant discovery is the transformation of the strategy from the Turnaround strategy to Diversification strategy. Suggestions for the Daen Ltd. are to prepare more than one business strategy, whereas one is oriented to the circumstances of the end of the pandemic and the one concentrates on the pandemic environment.
