Animality concept in the philosophy of Martin Heidegger

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá Heideggerovou koncepcí pobytu v díle Sein und Zeit, kterou představuje v jejím odklonu od tradiční definice člověka jako rozumného zvířete a uvádí tuto koncepci do souvislosti s Heideggerovým chápáním animality. Ta je významným způsobem utvářena zejména prostřednictvím vztahu, jež nabývá pobyt k bytí. Pobyt je existence, mající porozumění bytí a jeho smysl je založen v čase. Zvířecí způsob bytí je charakterizován privací, tj. zvíře je vykázáno jako neschopné nabít plnosti ve vztahu k bytí na způsob pobytu. Práce rovněž pojednává o vývoji vzniklé diference v Heideggerových přednáškách Die Grundbegriffe der Metaphysik, kde pobyt získává označení jako svět utvářející a zvíře je světem chudé.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with Heidegger's conception of Dasein in Sein und Zeit, which he presents as a departure from the traditional definition of human as a rational animal and puts this conception in the context of the Heidegger´s understanding of animality, which is shaped in a significant way, especially through the relation that Dasein acquires to Being. Dasein is determined by existence having an understanding of Being whose meaning is based in time. The animal mode of being is characterized as privation i.e. the animal is characterized as incapable of acquiring fullness in relation to being by way of Dasein. The thesis also discusses the development of the emergent difference in Heidegger's lectures Die Grundbegriffe der Metaphysik, where Dasein receives a denomination as world-forming and the animal is poor in the world.
