Influence of fire on the secondary succession of the tree layer on the calamity clearing area – LS Jeseník, Lesy ČR, s.p.

Abstract:

Lesní požár jako antropogenní škodlivý činitel má poměrně značný vliv na lesní ekosystém a jeho funkce, proto bychom této problematice měli věnovat větší pozornost. V důsledku kůrovcové kalamity a obrovským holinám, které vnikají, mohou být lesní požáry značným rizikovým faktorem lesního hospodářství. Tato diplomová práce se zabývá vlivem lesního požáru na sekundární sukcesi dřevinného patra na kalamitní holině. Výzkum se prováděl na území LS Jeseník konkrétněji v revíru Janov u Krnova. Na zkoumaném území vznikl požár 22. 8. 2018 na ploše 6,75 ha. Na kalamitní holině byla na jaře a na podzim roku 2020 provedena 2 měření. Výzkumné plochy mají několik typů a to: v místě požáru na volné ploše a v oplocení a mimo požár na volné ploše a v oplocení. Plochy byly rozděleny na 25-33 kruhových plošek, u kterých byly vytyčeny středy stanovišť kolíkem. Na kruhových plochách se zjišťovaly druhy dřevin, jejich četnost a průměrná výška. Dále i procento zabuřenění plochy a procento okusu. Naše výsledky ukazují, že nejčastější se vyskytující dřevinou je topol osika (Populus tremula): 7382 ks/ha. Největší počet životaschopných jedinců bylo naměřeno na ploše v místě požáru a v oplocení, tudíž můžeme usoudit, že požár má pozitivní vliv na přirozenou obnovu. Nejméně životaschopných jedinců bylo naopak naměřeno na ploše mimo požár bez oplocení a to 665 ks/ha břízy bělokoré (Betula pendula). Nejvyšší průměrnou výšku mají jedinci dřeviny javor klen (Acer pseudoplatanus) 150 cm, a to na volné ploše mimo požár. Okus jsme pozorovali na 50 % všech jedinců břízy bělokoré a topolu osiky na plochách bez oplocení. Plocha bez oplocení mimo požár byla nejvíce postižená buření, naopak plocha v místě požáru a v oplocení byla buření postižená nejméně.

Abstract:

Forest fire as an anthropogenic harmful factor has a relatively significant impact on the forest ecosystem and its functions, so we should pay more attention to this issue. Due to the disaster caused by bark beetle and huge clear-cut areas, forest fires can be a significant risk factor for forestry. This diploma thesis deals with the influence of a forest fire on the secondary succession of a woody storey in a gale-disaster area. The research was carried out on the territory of LS Jeseník, more specifically in the Janov district. On 22nd August 2018, a fire with an area of 6.75 ha occurred in the studied area. In the spring and autumn of 2020, two measurements were performed on the gale-disaster area. Research areas had four types: in the open area and in a fence in the burnt-out area and in the open area and in a fence outside a burnt-out area. The each area was divided in 25-33 circular areas, in which the centres were marked with pins. Tree species, their frequency and height were determined on circular areas. Furthermore, the percentage of weed infestation of the areas and a browsing damage of trees. Our results show that the most common tree species is aspen poplar (Populus tremula): 7382 pcs/ha. The largest number of viable individuals was measured at the site of the fire and in the fencing, so we can conclude that the fire has a positive effect on natural regeneration. On the other hand, the least viable individuals were measured in the area outside the fire without fencing, namely 665 pcs/ha of white birch (Betula pendula). The highest average height is reached by the sycamore maple (Acer pseudoplatanus) 150 cm, in the open area outside the fire. We observed the 50% browsing damage individuals of white birch and aspen poplar in areas without fencing. The area without fencing outside the fire was the most affected by the weed infestation, on the contrary, the area at the place of the fire and in the fencing was the least affected by the weed infestation.
