Racism and discrimination in the Dictionary of the Spanish language (DLE)

Abstract:

This master's thesis examines twelve idioms contained in the dictionary of the Real Academia Española (2014), which contain one of five ethnic groups or nations selected on the basis of a predefined corpus. In the first three chapters of the theoretical part, we approach the principles of critical discourse analysis and racism in speech, as well as an introduction to phraseology and its definition. In the practical part, the basics of the theoretical part are used and an analysis of twelve Spanish idioms is performed according to the methodology of Jäger (2001/2003).

Abstract:

Tato magisterská diplomová práce zkoumá dvanáct frazémů obsažených ve slovníku Real Academia Española (2014), které obsahují některou z pěti etnických skupin či národů vybraných na základě předem definovaného korpusu. V prvních třech kapitolách teoretické části přibližujeme principy kritické analýzy diskurzu a rasismu v projevech, stejně tak jako úvod do frazeologie a její vymezení. V praktické části se pak využívá základů z teoretické části a dle metodologie Jägera (2001/2003) je provedena analýza dvanácti španělských frazémů.
