Abstract:
The thesis discusses healing with food in antiquity. This very broad subject approached through a selection of medicinal ingredients used in ancient Greece and Rome. In order to present the subject as comprehensively as possible, the thesis does not only concentrate on the works of ancient physicians but also makes use of prosaic literature, encyclopedias and historical writings. Diplomová práca si kladie za cieľ pojednať o liečiteľstve pomocou jedla v antike. Keďže táto problematika je veľmi obsiahla, činí tak prostredníctvom vybraných liečivých ingrediencií používaných v starovekom Grécku a Ríme.
