Abstract:

Předkládaná magisterská diplomová práce se zaměřuje na tvorbu polského hudebníka Przemysława Gintrowského a básníka Zbigniewa Herberta. Práci otevírá nahlédnutí do problematiky žánru zpívané poezie, jeho specifika v Polsku i šířeji v Sovětském svazu a Československu. Dále se práce věnuje historickému kontextu včetně role církve, kultury a opozičních aktivit v Polské lidové republice od roku 1956 až po pád komunistického režimu. Pozornost je však soustředěna především na osobnosti a dílo obou autorů. Z Herbertovy bohaté tvorby se práce zaměřuje na dvě básnické sbírky – Pan Cogito a Raport z oblężonego Miasta, které jej postavily v 70. a 80. letech do role morální autority. Przemysław Gintrowski, který zhudebnil řadu Herbertových básní, se po vyhlášení výjimečného stavu, jako představitel nezávislé kultury, dostává do podobné pozice. Dílo obou tvůrců spoluutvářelo rámec morálních norem a hodnot nejen v období výjimečného stavu, ale po zbytek trvání komunistického režimu v Polsku. Hlavním cílem práce je představit tvorbu Przemysława Gintrowského. Ta dosud nebyla bádána ani v polském prostředí, v českém prostředí je zcela neznámá. Na Gintrowského umělecké činnosti jsou potvrzovány nebo vyvraceny závěry z úvodní kapitoly věnované zpívané poezii. Současně z práce vyplývá společenská potřeba morálních autorit a jejich role v náročných historických okamžicích.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis focuses on the works of Polish musician Przemysław Gintrowski and Polish poet Zbigniew Herbert. At the opening of this paper we introduce the genre of sung poetry, complexity of its definition, and its existence and specificity in Poland as well as in Czechoslovakia and Soviet Union. The thesis then elaborates on the historical context that conditioned the genre and the work of the two aforementioned artists - the role of Church, culture and political opposition in the Polish People’s Republic between 1956 and the fall of Communism. For the purposes of closer study of the works of the artists we have chosen two poetry collections by Herbert – Mr. Cogito and Report from the Besieged City which have positioned their author to the role of a moral leader in the 1970s and 1980s. Gintrowski, who set many of Herbert’s poems to music, found himself in a similar role, especially after the declaration of the state of emergency in Poland when he continued his independent musical work. Both men have generated a system of moral values which would strengthen the Polish nation in the fight against the Communist regime until it was finally overruled. The main aim of this thesis is to portray the works of Przemysław Gintrowski which have not been thoroughly studied in Poland to this day (in Czechia these have been fully neglected until now). The analysis of Gintrowski’s works then reflects on the genre of sung poetry as it is described in the introductory chapter, and the view into his life and Polish historical context allow us to better understand the role and need of moral leaders in certain, difficult and decisive moments in our history.
