Effects of Maternal Alcoholism on Adult Children

Abstract:

Bakalářská páce se zabývá vlivem alkoholismu matky, na již dospělé jedince v období jejich dětství a důsledky tohoto problému v různých oblastech života. Teoretická část popisuje základní pojmy spjaté se závislosti na alkoholu, vlivem alkoholismu ženy na rodinu jako takovou a na děti. Praktická část je kvalitativním výzkumem s využitím techniky polostrukturovaných rozhovorů, kdy cílem práce je popsat a analyzovat dopady alkoholismu matek na dospělé děti. Participanty výzkumu byli nyní již dospělí jedinci, kteří v dětství byli ovlivněni matkou závislou na alkoholu. Bylo zjištěno, že největší dopady jsou v psychické úrovni, kdy participanti uváděli častěji smutnou náladu, nejistotu a agresivní chování z celé situace v domácnosti.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis deals with the influence of mother's alcoholism on already adults in their childhood and consequences of this problem in different areas of life. The theoretical part describes the basic concepts associated with alcohol dependence, the influence of women's alcoholism on the family as such and on children. The practical part is a quality research using the technique of semi-structured interviews, where the aim of the work is to describe and analyze the effects of maternal alcoholism on adult children. The participants in the research were now adults who were influenced by an alcoholic mother as a child. It was found that the greatest impacts are at the psychological level, where participants more often mentioned the sad mood, insecurity and aggressive behavior from the whole situation in the household.
