Disruption and resilience of supply chains in the Czech automotive industry

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce bylo zpracovat doporučení pro zvýšení odolnosti firem v automobilovém dodavatelském řetězci, na základě zhodnocení přijatých mitigačních opatření a dopadů narušení dodavatelských řetězců v českém automobilovém průmyslu v letech 2020-2022. K dosažení tohoto cíle byly dále nadefinovány 3 výzkumné otázky. První polovina práce představovala rozsáhlou literární rešerši akademické literatury narušení a odolnosti dodavatelských řetězců, přičemž druhá polovina práce byla již vlastní výzkumnou prací, jež se skládala z analýzy primárních dat z případové studie významného tier 1 dodavatele automobilového průmyslu i sekundárních dat z odvětví. Následně byly na základě výzkumné práce zodpovězeny výzkumné otázky, vyvozeny závěry a zpracováno doporučení pro zvýšení odolnosti firem v automobilovém dodavatelském řetězci a cíl práce tak byl naplněn.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis was to develop recommendations for increasing the resilience of firms in the automotive supply chain, based on an assessment of adopted mitigation measures and impacts of supply chain disruptions in the Czech automotive industry in 2020-2022. To achieve this aim, 3 research questions were further defined. The first half of the thesis was an extensive literature review of the academic literature on supply chain disruption and resilience, while the second half of the thesis was authors own research work that consisted of the analysis of primary data from a case study of a major tier 1 automotive supplier as well as secondary data from the industry. Subsequently, based on the research work, the research questions were answered, conclusions were drawn and recommendations were made to increase the resilience of firms in the automotive supply chain and the aim of the thesis was thus fulfilled.
