Abstract:

Hlavním cílem této práce je definovat a analyzovat základní pojmy potravin v anglickém, ruském, českém a norském jazyce. Hlavními oblastmi, které byly analyzovány, jsou etymologie a historie termínů, neboť obě jsou neoddělitelně spojeny. Z této analýzy autorka očekávala nejen zvýraznění rozdílů v jazycích, ale i jejich podobnosti. Proto začíná práce kapitolou Russenorsk (pidgin ruských a norských jazyků). Existence tohoto pidginu je důkazem, že tyto různé jazyky mohou komunikovat a rozvíjet se v něco složitého a důležitého. V následujících kapitolách práce autorka analyzovala následující pojmy: obiloviny, obiloviny (kaše), špalda, proso, chléb, zelenina, ředkev, cibule, mrkev, ryby, candát, jeseter, losos. Všechna analyzovaná lingvistická data byla převzata z etymologických slovníků, historických encyklopedií a další odborné literatury. Příklady některých názvů potravin jsou většinou přísloví a výrazy, které umožňují vyjádřit, jak je lidé určitých kultur používali ve svém projevu. Výsledek srovnání a analýzy ukazuje, že moderní svět je velmi globální a různé kultury mohou komunikovat i v lingvistice. Tuto interakci můžeme vidět v podobných příslovích v různých jazycích, v různých historických aspektech. Všechny tyto skutečnosti jsou důkazem, že jídlo je pro každou kulturu velmi důležité a že v budoucnu bude globalizace jazyka hlavním aspektem výzkumu.

Abstract:

The main aim of this thesis is to define and analyse the basic food terms in English, Russian, Czech and Norwegian languages. The main spheres that were analysed are etymology and history of the terms, as both of them are connected. From this analysis the author was expecting to highlight not only differences in the languages but also their similarities. That is why thesis starts with chapter Russenorsk (pidgin of Russian and Norwegian languages). Existence of this pidgin is a proof that such different languages can interact and develop into something complex and important. In the following chapters of work, author analysed the following terms: cereals, cereals foods (porridge), spelt, millet, bread, vegetables, raddish, onion, carrot, fish, zander, sturgeon, salmon. All the analyzed linguistic data was taken from the etymological dictionaries and historic one from encyclopedias and other professional literature. Examples of certain food names are mostly proverbs and expressions that allow to reflect how people of certain cultures were using them in their speech. The result of comparison and analysis show that modern world is very global and different cultures can interact even in linguistics. We can see that interaction in the similar proverbs in different languages, in various historical aspects. All those facts are the proof that food is very crucial for every culture and that in the future the globalization will be the leading aspect for the future research.
