The Czech National Revival and the Study of the Indian Traditions
Abstract:
Práce se zaměřuje na otázku, jaké obrazy indických tradic sloužily českým národním obrozencům v jejich emancipačním úsilí. Zabývá se též pojetím národa, jež obrozenci zastávali a paradigmatem,z něhož toto pojetí vycházelo. Dále ozřejmuje interpretace indických tradic u západních badatelů a především pak u našich obrozenců.Abstract:
The thesis is focused on the question - which images of the Indian traditions were used by the Czech national revivalists in their emancipatory efforts. It dealts with the concept of the nation of our revivalists and with the paradigm on which it was based as well.The thesis elucidates the interpretations of the Indian traditions of the western scholars and mainly of our revivalists.
