Onemocnění srdce a cév, neboli kardiovaskulární onemocnění, jsou nejčastější příčinou závažné morbidity i mortality ve vyspělých zemích. Nejzávažnější z této skupiny onemocnění je ischemická choroba srdeční, především její akutní formy. Heart and vascular or cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of serious morbidity and mortality in developed countries. Coronary heart disease, especially the acute form, is the most serious disease of this group.
