Integration of muslims into Czech society

Abstract:

Tento text si klade za cíl zodpovědět následující tři otázky: Jak jsou integrováni muslimové, kteří na území České Republiky již pobývají? Jaké aspekty ovlivňují integraci muslimů na území ČR? Jak o českých muslimech informují média? Islámu jsem si pro tuto práci vymezil pomocí pět pilířů Islámu a šaríi. V části zaměřené na současný stav Islámu v české společnosti se dozvídáme, že na našem území žije v současné době přibližně 10 000 muslimů, z nichž je nábožensky aktivních přibližně 1/5. Dozvíme se zde také složení české muslimské komunity a to, že povětšinou jsou dobře socioekonomicky integrováni, výjimku tvoří turecká subkomunita. V části zaměřené na mediální obraz českým muslimů předkládám dvě analýzy, které zaměřeny na obraz o českých muslimech. První je analýzou tištěných periodik a toho, jak píší o českých muslimech. Druhá je analýzou článků psaných v souvislosti se stavbou mešity v lázních Teplice v Čechách.

Abstract:

This text designates the target to answer the following three questions: How are Muslims, who are already living in the territory of Czech Republic, integrated? How do media acquaint with Czech Islamites? As principles of Islam for this work I consider five pillars of Islam and sharia. In the part focused on the current state of Islam in the Czech society we can learn that nowadays there live approximately 10 000 Islamites in our territory, 1/5 of whom are religiously active. We will also learn here the constitution of the Czech Muslim community and that they are for the most part well socioeconomically integrated, with the exception of Turkish sub-community. In parts focused on the medial picture of Czech Islamites I put forward two analyses. The first one is an analysis of printed periodicals and of what how they write about Czech Islamites. The second one is an analysis of the articles written within the context of the construction of mosque at the spa Teplice in Bohemia.
