Uzbekistan is the birthplace of the "Tourism on the Great Silk Road" project. Since 1994, more than 20 countries have joined this project. The country's leadership encourages the development of tourism on the Great Silk Road and sees the prospects for its development for the economy and tourism of modern Uzbekistan.
