Characteristic of /diorites" from the norden extension of the Trebic pluton

Abstract:

Studovaná lokalita, která leží v severním výběžku třebíčského masivu nedaleko obce Zhoř, byla identifikována podle pozitivní thoriové a tíhové anomálie. Cílem této práce bylo petrograficky charakterizovat horninu, která se nachází v místě studované lokality, a dále zjistit příčinu tíhové a thoriové anomálie. Hornina, která se zde nachází, připomíná vysokými obsahy přirozeně radioaktivních prvků (K 6,6 %, Th 32,9 ppm, U 7,2 ppm) typické durbachity třebíčského masivu. Jinými vlastnostmi – neporfyrickou masivní stavbou a celo-horninovým chemismem se odlišuje. Vzhledem k mineralogickému složení byla hornina charakterizována jako křemenný monzonit. Během studia bylo zjištěno, že příčinou thoriové anomálie a nositelem thoria je monazit (9,0–10,6 hm. %). Dále byla objevena enkláva velikosti cca 1,5 cm. Jedná se o biotitické gabro se spinelem bez pyroxenu. Enkláva takového typu nebyla v horninách durbachitové série dosud popsána, v Českém masivu ani jinde ve světě. Vzhledem k mineralogickým asociacím v enklávě lze soudit, že vznikla za vysokých teplot cca. 1000 °C a mohla by tak být prvním důkazem o vysokoteplotním eventu v třebíčském masivu, podobně jako tomu bylo v jihlavském masivu. Její gabroidní charakter také napovídá, že v hlubších částech studované lokality by mohlo ležet těleso gabroidního charakteru, které by vysvětlovalo výskyt pozitivní tíhové anomálie na studované lokalitě. Interpretace výsledků této práce dobře korelují s geofyzikálními podklady pro oblast TM a jsou důležitým podkladem k dalšímu výzkumu vývoje a petrologie třebíčského a jihlavského masivu.

Abstract:

We study a locality lying in the north projection of the Trebic massif close to Zhoř. We identify it thanks to a positive thorium and gravity anomaly. The aim of the thesis is to petrographically characterise the rock from the studied locality and to discover the cause of the thorium and gravity anomaly. The examined rock resembles typical Trebic massif durbachites in high contents of naturally radioactive elements (K 6.6 %, Th 32.9 ppm, U 7.2 ppm). However, it differs from them in other aspects, namely in its non-porfyric massive structure and whole-rock chemical composition. We define the rock as a quartz monzonite with respect to its mineralogical composition. We discover that monazite is the cause of the thorium anomaly as well as the bearer of thorium (9.0–10.6 hm. %). Moreover, we find a 1.5cm enclave. It is a biotitic gabro with a spinel without pyroxene. An enclave of such type has not been discovered yet in rocks of the durbachite series neither in the Czech massif, nor in the world elsewhere. We conclude that it was created in high temperatures (cca. 1000°C), based on mineralogical associations in the enclave. It can be a first proof of the high-temperature event in the Trebic massif similar to the one in the Jihlava massif. Its gabbroid character refers to the fact that a body of gabbroid character might lie in deeper parts of the examined locality. It would explain the presence of the positive gravity anomaly in the examined locality. The interpretation of the results confirms geophysical assumptions for the TM locality and it is an important finding for the subsequent research of the development and the petrology of the Trebic and the Jihlava massif.
