The importance of occupational therapy in the care system for children with developmental coordination disorder

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou centrální koordinační poruchy (CKP) u dětí. Nejčastěji se jedná o děti v kojeneckém věku, které jsou v rehabilitační péči. V teoretické části je definována CKP, její výskyt, diagnostika a stupně postižení. V následující kapitole je popsán psychomotorický vývoj dítěte v prvním roce života a zároveň je kladen důraz na správný handling v souvislosti s dítětem. Jsou zde zmíněny zásady handlingu, polohování dítěte i manipulace v rámci běžných denních aktivit. V neposlední řadě je zmíněna ergoterapeutická intervence a role ergoterapeuta v této problematice. Praktická část je zpracována pomocí dotazníkového šetření a je zaměřena na vývojová stádia dítěte a informovanost respondentů v oblasti handlingu a to zejména při polohování a manipulaci s dítětem v rámci běžných denních činností. Výsledky práce poukazují na to, že rodiče jsou sice dostatečně informování v této problematice, ale hlavním problémem je zdroj, odkud informace čerpají, což pak může mít vliv na kvalitu provedení samotné manipulace. Dalším problémem je edukace ze strany zdravotnického personálu, s kterou také řada respondentů nebyla spokojena, jelikož neproběhla a nikdo jim neposkytl ani základní edukaci, a to ani v porodnici.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of central coordination disorder (CCD) in children. These are most often children in infancy who are in care. The theoretical part defines CCD, its occurrence, diagnosis and degrees of disability. The following chapter describes the psychomotor development of a child up to one year of age and at the same time emphasizes the correct handling in connection with the child. The principles of handling, positioning the child and manipulation within normal daily activities are mentioned here. Last but not least the occupational therapy intervention and the role of the occupational therapist in this issue are mentioned. The practical part is processed using a questionnaire survey and is focused on the developmental stages of the child and the awareness of respondents in the field of handling, especially in positioning and manipulating with the child during activities of daily living. The results of the bachelor's thesis show that although parents are sufficiently informed in this area, the main problem is the source from which they gain information, which can affect the quality of the manipulation itself. Another problem is the education by the medical staff, with which many respondents were also dissatisfied, at it did not take place and no one provided them with even basic education, not even in the maternity hospital.
