DiClemente and Prochaska´s trans-theoretical model of change and its relation to prediction of addictive behavior change

Abstract:

Ve své bakalářské práci se zabývám problematikou závislostního chování, jeho změny a transteoretickým modelem změny autorů DiClementeho a Prochasky. V první kapitole se zaměřuji na pojem závislost a znaky závislosti, dále se věnuji problematice změny závislostního chování, popisuji některé modely vysvětlující změnu chování a intervence na podporu ukončení závislostního chování. Ve druhé kapitole popisuji transteoretický model změny, jeho klíčové konstrukty, možnosti aplikace a jeho účinnost při predikci změny závislostního chování. V závěru kapitoly uvádím příklady studií, které se zabývají intervencemi založenými na transteoretickém modelu změny a jejich účinností.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on the theme of addictive behaviour, addictive behaviour change and DiClemente and Prochaska´s transtheoretical model of behavioural change. The first chapter of my work is focused on the definition of addiction, its characteristics and addictive behaviour change. I describe some models of behaviour change and some intervetions that promote termination of addictive behaviour. The last chapter is focused on the description of transtheoretical model of behavioural change. I describe the key constructs of model, areas of its application and its efficacy in predicting of addictive bahavioral change. The end of this chapter contains examples of studies that deal with transtheoretical model-based interventions and efficacy of these interventions.
