Return of painting at contemporary slovak art scene with the accent on figuration

Abstract:

The theme of the thesis is the return of painting at contemporary slovak art scene with the accent on figuration. The possible reasons of this phenomena are explaned by external influence (by following the example of euro-amrican contemporary art centres), as well as by impingement of internal factors (especially strong tradition at the field of figural painting, overloading of art scene by other media or influence of art market). The other part of this work deals with the concept of dividing slovak contemporary figural painting from two points of view - the first one becomes from the reaction on new media and conceptual art of the previous period, and the second one comes from the meaning of the figure in the painting. As the examples of suggested concept are pices of young and the newest generation of slovak arts, whose entred at the art scene at first in 90´s of last century.

Abstract:

Témou diplomovej práce je návrat média maľby na slovenskú súčasnú scénu s dôrazom na figuráciu. Možné dôvody tohto fenoménu sú vysvetľované vonkajším vplyvom (teda nasledovaním príkladu euro – amerických centier súčasného umenia), ako aj pôsobením domácich faktorov (silná tradícia hlavne v oblasti figurálnej maľby, presýtenie výtvarnej scény inými médiami či vplyv umeleckého trhu). V ďalšej časti potom práca navrhuje delenie súčasnej slovenskej figurálnej maľby, a to buď podľa reakcie na nové média a konceptuálne umenie predchádzajúceho obdobia, ale podľa významu figúry v obraze. Ako príklady navrhnutého konceptu sú uvedené diela mladej a najmladšej generácie slovenských výtvarníkov, ktorí vstúpili na umeleckú scénu najskôr v 90.rokoch minulého storočia.
