Věra Fridrichová and her Works for Theater

Abstract:

Předkládaná bakalářská práce se zabývá divadelní tvorbou akademické malířky Věry Fridrichové (*25. 10. 1919 - †23. 11. 1978), která žila a tvořila v Brně. Vybrána jsou její nejvýznamnější kostýmní a scénografické realizace zaměřené především na lidovou tématiku pro československá divadla, která byla následně využita i jako součást komunistické propagace. Cílem této práce je analyzovat divadelní tvorbu malířky ze stylového hlediska a historického kontextu. V neposlední řadě se práce zaměřuje na otázku, do jaké míry mohl socialistický režim ovlivnit Věru Fridrichovou v její umělecké činnosti?

Abstract:

This thesis deals with theatrical work of the academic painter Věra Fridrichová (*25. 10. 1919 - †23. 11. 1978), who lived and worked in Brno. Primarily selected works are her most significant costume and scenic designs focused on folklore theme for theaters of Czechoslovakia, which were subsequently used as part of the communist promotion. The aim of this work is to analyze her theatrical designs in terms of style and historical context. Last but not least, this thesis is focused on the question to what extent could the socialist regime influence Věra Fridrichová in her artistic activities?
