Anotace:

Předkládaná disertační práce se zabývá analýzou strategií vysokoškolsky vzdělaných žen v oblasti kombinace práce a rodinného života v kontextu dvou zemí regionu Střední a Východní Evropy: Slovinska a České Republiky, formou mezinárodní komparativní studie. Teoretický a analytický model je postaven na předpokladu, že životní dráhy mužů a žen jsou institucionalizovány na kulturní a strukturální úrovni. Cílem práce je vysvětlit vyliv interakce těchto faktorů na pracovní dráhy žen s dětmi do šesti let. Práce staví na předpokladu, že pracovní dráhy žen, stejně jako institucionální a strukturní podmínky, ve kterých se pohybují, jsou formovány genderovou normou. V analýze se zaměřujeme na tyto výzkumné problémy: a) Vliv normy péče na podobu a historický vývoj rodinné politiky Slovinska a České Republiky v historické perspektivě. Cílem postihnout normativní pozadí historického kontextu reforem rodinné politiky, analýza je teoreticky rámována konceptem „ideálů péče“ Monique Kremer 2007 a teorií „typů familialismu“ Singrid Leiner 2003. a) Strukturální podmínky trhu práce v komparovaných zemích, které jsou analyzovány pomocí deskriptivní statistické analýzy trendů v zaměstnanosti žen a jejich ekonomickém postavení. c) Biografická analýza rozhovorů s 32 ženami s univerzitním vzděláním, které mají děti ve věku do 6 let je zaměřena na popis a explanaci časování přechodů v pracovních biografiích žen a na souvislost individuálních strategií kombinace práce a péče s designem rodinné politiky a s ideály péče v komparovaných zemích.

Abstract:

The thesis presents an international comparative study on work-life reconciliation strategies of university educated women in the two Central and Eastern European countries (CEECs): Slovenia and the Czech Republic. Assuming the life-courses of men and women being institutionalized on both cultural and structural levels, the thesis aims to explain the impact of these factors on individual working biographies of women with children under age of six. The main assumption the analysis stems from is the impact of the gender norm on the working trajectories of women, same as on the structural and institutional conditions, in which the women manoeuvre. In the analysis, following research problems are discussed a) The influence of the dominant gender norm on the design of family policy in context of the historical development of Czech and Slovene care policies. The theories of “ideals of care” by Monique Kremer 2007 and the theory of “varieties of familializm” by Singrid Leiner 2003 are applied to reflect the gender normative background of the historical context, in which the family policy measures were assumed. b) The structural conditions are outlined by descriptive statistical analysis focused on female employment patterns, and economic position of women. c) The transitions in female occupational career connected to motherhood depicted in biographical analysis of 32 interviews with university educated women with children under age of six. The analysis reveals and the individual work-care reconciliation strategies in the context of the family policy design and ideals of care.
