Web-based cartographic presentation of special-purpose meteorological measurements

Abstract:

Pavla Pelikánová: Kartografická prezentace účelových meteorologických měření na webu Bakalářská práce se zabývá sestavením map prostorové diferenciace teploty vzduchu v prostoru Brna. V literární rešerši byly shrnuty hlavní specifika kartografické prezentace meteorologických měření a na konkrétních příkladech z internetových stránek bylo poukázáno na jejich silné a slabé stránky. K sestavení vizualizace bylo využito měření ze souboru stanic a z geografické databáze sestavené na základě regresního vztahu teploty vzduchu a hodnot vegetačního indexu. Cílem bakalářské práce bylo navrhnout vhodný způsob kartografické prezentace účelových měření teploty vzduchu v prostoru Brna. Výsledné vizualizace byly prezentovány v podobě webové aplikace a byly navrhnuty možné způsoby jejího praktického využití. Výsledky práce mohou sloužit k prezentaci praktických informací např. o intenzitě tepelného ostrova, o teplotních poměrech města Brna nebo jako zdroje dat pro jiné práci či výzkumy.

Abstract:

Pavla Pelikánová: Web-based cartographic presentation of special-purpose meteorological measurements The bachelor thesis focus on compilation of maps of spatial differentiation of air temperature in Brno. In the literature overview, the main features of the cartographic presentation of the meteorological measurements were summarized and on the specific examples from the websites were pointed out their strengths and weaknesses. To build the visualization, measurements from a set of stations and from a geographic database, based on the regression of the air temperature and the values of the vegetation index, were used. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to propose a suitable way of cartographic presentation of purposeful measurements of air temperature in Brno. The resulting visualizations were presented in the form of a web application and possible ways of its practical use were suggested. The results of the thesis can be used to present practical information e.g about the intensity of the thermal island, the temperature conditions of the city of Brno or as data sources for other work or researches.
