Eye color of students of Brno universities

Abstract:

V diplomové práci se věnuji barvě a struktuře lidské duhovky (iris). V první části popisuji její anatomickou stavbu, pigmentaci a funkci. Dále se zabývám heterochromií, genetikou a různými způsoby klasifikace odstínů barvy duhovky. Rozebírám vliv onemocnění iris na její zbarvení. Zjišťovala jsem barvu a strukturu očí brněnských vysokoškoláků. Poslední podobný výzkum na toto téma proběhl na Přírodovědecké fakultě Masarykovy univerzity v roce 1992. V druhé části je vložena vlastní fotodokumentace různých odstínů a typů duhovek, fotografie Martinova vzorníku barvy očí, Ziegellmayerovo schéma struktury duhovky a moje výsledky, které jsem srovnávala s jinými autory. U barvy očí převažuje modrá, pak melírovaná (hnědá s modrou), hnědá a nakonec zelená. U koncentrické struktury převládá typ 1 a 2, u kryptovité je více než polovina probandů bez krypt, u zbylých převažuje typ 1. U paprsčité struktury je až 80 % studentů bez paprsků, u ostatních je nejvíce zastoupen typ 4.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis, called Eye Colour of Students of Brno Universities, devotes colour and structure of iris. At the beginning, the anatomical structure, pigmentation and function of iris is described. Thereinafter the heterochromia, genetics and different ways of iris colour classification is developed. In the next chapter the impact of iris diseases on its coloration is analysed. The colour and the structure of eyes of university students in Brno were determined. The similar academic research took place on The Faculty of Science at Masaryk University in Brno in 1992. The own photo documentation of different shades and types of iris, the photos of Martin swatch of eyes colour, Ziegellmayer diagram of iris structure and individual results obtained for thesis use compared to other authors is inserted in the second chapter of the thesis. For eyes colour blue colour prevails, followed by mixed (brown with blue), brown comes after and the least occurs green. At concentric structure types 1 and 2 predominate, at cryptic structure more than half probands occurs with no crypts, at remaining structures type 1 predominates. At radial structure 80 % of probands is being with no rays, at remaining structures type 4 predominates.
