Monetary Transmission Mechanism in Selected European Countries

Abstract:

Disertační práce se zaměřuje na determinanty asymetrií v měnovém transmisním mechanismu států Evropské unie. Změny ve struktuře ekonomiky spolu s kombinacemi dalších faktorů mohou způsobit nepravidelnosti v monetární transmisi v čase a též působit na asymetrické projevy mezi zeměmi. Proto se práce soustředí na přesné ověření daných nelinearit a jejich determinantů. V první části práce je proveden rozbor teoretického rámce monetární politiky a užívaných metod zkoumání. Na jeho základě jsou navrženy vhodné metody výzkumu: nelineární modely mnohorozměrných časových řad a jejich kombinace se statistickým určením determinantů síly monetární transmise. Praktickým přínosem práce je navržení predikčních metod inflace pro podnikovou praxi, teoretickým přínosem bude komparace získaných výsledků s monetární teorií a lepší pochopení nelineárních makroekonomických struktur.

Abstract:

Dissertation thesis is focused on sources of asymmetries in monetary transmission mechanism within European union countries. Changes in economic structure along with combinations of other factors could cause irregularities in monetary transmission over time and have as well an effect on asymmetric patterns among countries. Therefore, this thesis covers precise verifying of such asymmetries and their determinants. First part contains theoretical analysis of monetary policy and common research methods. Appropriate research methods are defined on its basis: nonlinear models of multidimensional time series and their combination with statistical identifying determinants of monetary policy impacts. Practical benefit of the thesis is designing methods for inflation forecasting in business area, theoretical outcome is a comparison of own results with monetary theory and better understanding of nonlinear macroeconomic structures.
