Investment funds in the Czech Republic and their expenses

Abstract:

V diplomové práci, týkající se investičních fondů v České republice a jejich nákladovosti, je zprvu kladena pozornost na obecné pojmy týkající se kapitálového trhu, fondů kolektivního investování, současné situace v oblasti českého kolektivního investování a rozdělení a specifikování investičních fondů dle české legislativy. Další kapitola pojednává o metodologii měření nákladovosti investičních fondů a o specifikování základních ukazatelů, jimiž jsou TER a syntetický TER. V závěru práce poskytuje analýzu a komparaci nákladovosti vybraných českých fondů kolektivního investování se zaměřením na standardní a speciální fond. Cílem práce je podrobná analýza nákladovosti českých fondů kolektivního investování a jednotlivých faktorů, které tuto nákladovost ovlivňují. V poslední subkapitole práce demonstruje dopad nákladovosti do výkonnosti fondu a vliv na budoucí hodnotu investice.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis focuses on the investment funds in the Czech Republic and their expenses. The attention is firstly paid to the basic definitions and facts connected with: the capital market, collective investment funds, recent situation on the field of the Czech collective investing and specifics of the investment funds according to the Czech legal regulatory framework. Next chapter contains a methodology of measuring investment fund´s expenses. In addition, it specifies basic indicators of the expenses such as TER and synthetic TER. At the end, the last chapter offers an analysis and a comparison of the expenses of chosen Czech collective investment funds with a deeper focus on UCITS and non-UCITS funds. The aim of this thesis is a detailed analysis of the Czech collective investment fund´s expenses and of the main factors influencing the expenses. The last subchapter demonstrates how the performance of the fund and the future value of an investment are influenced by these expenses.
