Life situation of persons who have been granted subsidiary protection in the process of social integration

Abstract:

The presented thesis concerns with the life situation of persons who have been granted subsidiary protection, and the process of their integration into the Czech society. It is based on the theoretical concepts of life situation, social functioning and social integration. The aim of this thesis is to introduce the view of how these persons themselves perceive their life situation. Several disharmonies and imbalancies in the life situation of subsidiary protection beneficiaries have been identifed by means of analysis of the existent theoretical concepts, knowledge and legislative instruments, and via the qualitative face-to-face interviews with five representants of the examined group. The problems concerning uncertainty linked with the temporality of their residence status, searching for accommodation and employment, applying for social security benefits and integration of their children in the Czech schools may be seen as the most important ones. The respondents also identified other problematic areas, such as limited access to information, low lingual and expert competence of the officers which these persons necessarily come into contact with, as well as the impossibility to create positive social networks in the Czech Republic. In the conclusions, this thesis offers a proposal of interventions the implementation of which could lead to elimination of the identified imbalancies. The extent of the thesis is 15 510 words.

Abstract:

Práca sa zaoberá témou životnej situácie osôb s udelenou doplnkovou ochranou v procese ich integrácie do českej spoločnosti. Je založená na teoretickom koncepte životnej situácie, sociálneho fungovania a sociálnej integrácie. Snažili sme sa zamerať na pohľad samotných osôb s doplnkovou ochranou na ich životnú situáciu. Prostredníctvom teoretických poznatkov, rozboru legislatívnych opatrení a kvalitatívnych face-to-face rozhovorov s piatimi osobami s doplnkovou ochranou sme identifikovali niekoľko nerovnováh v ich životnej situácii. Jednalo sa hlavne o problémy v súvislosti s neistotou spojenou s dočasnosťou ich pobytového statusu, hľadaním ubytovania, práce, vybavovaním sociálnych dávok a začlenenia detí do českých škôl. Respondenti identifikovali ďalšie problémy v súvislosti s nedostatočným poskytovaním informácii, nízkou jazykovou a odbornou kompetenciou úradníkov, s ktorými sa dostávajú do kontaktu a nemožnosťou tvorby sociálnych sietí v ČR. V závere následne navrhujeme súbor intervencií, ktoré by pomohli tieto nerovnováhy eliminovať. Celkový rozsah práce je 15 510 slov.
