Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se snaží nastínit pohled na rostoucí trend mezinárodního managementu se speciálním zaměřením na rozvoj dovedností mezinárodních manažerů. Teoretická část se věnuje pojetí kultury a jejímu dopadu na různé aspekty nadnárodních korporací. Důraz je tudíž kladen na efektivní komunikaci napříč kulturami, převládající styly vedení pracovníků a obvyklé strategie mezinárodních společností. Za účelem zpracování přehledu o současném stavu dané problematiky bylo použito několik všeobecně přijímaných teorií a příslušná odborná literatura. Praktická část se zabývá analýzou jedné známé japonské nadnárodní korporace, která se sloučila s francouzskou automobilkou. Tato práce poukazuje na přirozené následky takovéto fúze a porovnává obě zmíněné kultury pomocí dosavadních výzkumných metod. Podstatná část práce se zaobírá osobou výkonného manažera, který úspěšně řídí obě společnosti. Na základě dostupných zdrojů, včetně rozhovorů učiněných s dotyčným mezinárodním manažerem, byly vyvozeny závěry. Hlavním cílem práce je stanovit nezbytné dovednosti takovýchto manažerů, stejně jako určit možné způsoby, jak je rozvinout.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis aims to provide an insight into the growing trend of international management with a special focus on developing global-leadership skills. The theoretical part is dedicated to the concept of culture and its impact on various aspects of multinational organisations. Emphasis is therefore placed on effective communication across cultures, prevalent leadership styles, and common strategies of international corporations. Several widely accepted theories and respective professional literature were used to compile an overview of the current status of the issue. The practical part deals with the analysis of a famous Japanese multinational company that merged with a French automaker. The thesis presents the natural consequences of such a merger, and compares each of the two cultures by means of existing research methods. A substantial part of the thesis is devoted to the executive who successfully manages both companies. Conclusions were drawn on the basis of available sources including interviews conducted with the international manager. The main objective of the thesis is to identify the necessary skills of such managers as well as possible ways how to develop them.
